Are Montainer homes made from recycled shipping containers?
Yes!
Will my Montainer rust out?
No. Shipping containers are made of “corten steel” which is a marine grade steel used in highly corrosive environments. It was developed to freeze the rusting process. search “corten steel” to learn more about its anti corrosive properties.
Will Montainers get too cold in the Winter or too hot in the Summer?
Montainers are insulated to perform in the most extreme climates, hot or cold. Highly efficient electric heating is provided standard with optional heating and cooling.
How are Montainers insulated?
Montainers are insulated with closed cell spray foam and far exceed all US energy code requirements.
Is my Montainer securable?
Montainers are highly securable, designed to be transported long distances and left unoccupied for long periods of time. When not in use, a Montainer can be closed up and locked to prevent damage from harsh weather or vandalism.
How is a Montainer delivered to my site?
We can deliver and place a Montainer just about anywhere. We ship your home modules on flatbed trucks and usually use a crane to place them onto the prepared foundation.
Where does Montainer deliver to?
We deliver and install homes across North America, and are especially focused in the Northwestern region of the United States with special knowledge and expertise dedicated to the area as this is where the majority of our clients are concentrated.
Do I need land?
Whether it is in your backyard or on a beach in the Caribbean, you will need somewhere to install your Montainer. If you do not have a site yet, our design team works with you to develop your modular design which can be very helpful with the selection of a site.
I really want to get a Montainer, but I don’t have land yet. Can you help me design my home and find a site?
Yes. Place your reservation and our design team will work with you to develop your modular design and price it out. We can then work with your realtor to locate a property that will be a great fit for your dream home.
Does my site need access to utilities?
We determine exact installation costs for your site including connection to utilities whether you are access to power, city sewer and water or well and septic system. Solar panels are also an option that we provide.
Does a Montainer need permit approval?
In most cases yes. We determine your specific permitting requirements for you and prepare all the documents necessary to gain permit approval for your home.
How long does it take to get my Montainer?
The answer to this question mostly depends on your needs. In most cases the initial feasibility study takes about 30 days. You have the option to move forward with production and delivery of your home at anytime, but expect approximately 60 days from beginning of production to completion and installation of your home. All in the time from reservation to completion can take as little as 90 days, but does by no means require you to move this quickly.
Can I customize my Montainer?
Our modular container home system allows for limitless configurations and options. Once you place your reservation, our design team works with you closely to complete a Montainer modular design that meets your needs.
Is my $2,500 reservation deposit refundable? What if you can’t get me a permit or I am unable to get the financing I need?
